The Energy Performance Survey!
Once you have engaged our Company to provide you with an Energy Performance Certificate, we will arrange for one of our domestic energy assessor to visit your property to carry out the energy survey.
The survey generally takes between 30mins to 1hr depending on the size and complexity of the property.
The domestic energy assessor (DEA) is required to inspect numerous elements of the dwelling, SOME of which we have listed below:
Heating systems and controls,
Hot water cylinder (if fitted),
Windows and doors,
Loft space and wall cavities for insulation,
Location and type of utility meter/s
The age and construction of the property
Measurements of the property
Etc ......
Our DEA may also ask you to provide information which may assist in providing you with an accurate assessment of the Energy Performance of your property.
Some simple measures such as, ensuring your hot water cylinder jacket is fitted correctly or you have low energy lamps fitted, may help improve the energy performance rating your property receives.
Check out the Energy Savings Trusts web site (http://www.energysavingstrust.org.uk) for further information on how to improve the energy efficiency of your property.
